What the artwork is made of

All materials are carefully considered, sustainably sourced and tailored to the environment they are designed for. Natural pigments are selected for an intentional impact.

Materials

The materials come before the image. Works are made with natural materials and pigment: sepia, charcoal, earth and mineral pigments; bio-based acrylics; recycled gold leaf. Each piece carries the character of what it is made from, and that is the point.

Materials are chosen for what they are and how long they will last. The work is made to hold a space for years, not a season.

Where a piece is produced as a print rather than made by hand, that is stated.

Every commission is delivered with a materials note: what the piece is made of, where and how it was made, and how to care for it.
