Privacy
This notice explains what personal information Form Earth handles through this site. In practice that is not much, because the site does very little.
What we collect
The only personal data you actively give this site is what you send when you get in touch: your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to put in your message. There is no contact form. Enquiries come by email, so the information you share is the information you decide to write.
The site also uses privacy-friendly analytics to understand how it is performing - how many people visit, and which pages they look at. This does not use cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not identify you. Because nothing is placed on your device and no one is individually tracked, no cookie banner is needed.
Why we hold it
To reply to you and, if a commission follows, to carry it out. The analytics are used only to see how the site is being found and used, in a form that does not identify anyone. The lawful basis for replying to you is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you have chosen to make; once a commission is agreed, it is performance of that agreement. The lawful basis for the analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
Who sees it
No one outside the studio uses your information for their own purposes. It is never sold, and never shared for marketing. A small number of providers handle data on the studio's behalf and nothing more: email is handled by a standard email provider, and the site is hosted by Vercel, which provides the analytics described above. Some of these providers process data on servers outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept while there is a live conversation and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you return. Records tied to a completed commission are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting. The analytics hold no personal data and identify no one. Anything no longer needed is deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information held about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to how it is used. To do any of that, email hello@formearth.eco. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version replaces this one here, with the date below updated.
Who is responsible
Form Earth is the trading name of Yasmin Ismail, a sole trader, who is the data controller for any personal information you share through this site. You can reach her at hello@formearth.eco.
